The UK National Lottery was a digital lottery pioneer and introduced Camelot Lottery Solutions’ digital lottery platform in 2010, which now has over 11 million registered users and accounts for nearly a third of total sales.

Camelot Lottery Solution’s digital lottery and data platform was originally designed for the UK National Lottery, and has been in market in the UK for 10 years. 

Over that time, digital sales have increased steadily year-on-year with annual top line sales of $2.3 billion now representing about 25% of the total UK portfolio.

Digital Innovation

The UK National Lottery introduced Camelot Lottery Solutions’ first generation digital lottery platform in 2010. In the four years that followed, digital sales rose from 12.7% to 18.4% of total sales, with total sales increasing by 19% to £6.7bn.

Building upon that early success, Camelot Lottery Solutions’ in-house product development team conceived and built a revolutionary new iLottery platform that was launched for the UK National Lottery in late 2014.

During the first 24 hours following the launch, more than six million registered users and over 195 million transactions transitioned from the old site to the new platform.

The increase in both digital and total sales has been achieved thanks in part to a cutting-edge app, built and supported by Camelot, supported by a wide-range of marketing and CRM initiatives.

The result is that the UK National Lottery now has over 11 million players registered for iLottery through the website or app, with total sales via the app rising 62% year-on-year.

Since its inception in 1994, the UK National Lottery has raised over £40bn ($50.7bn) for good causes, funding more than half a million projects across sport, arts, culture and local community initiatives.
